Deborde-Rolland Cobra 201AC

05/31/2018. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "The Cobra was an original design fully aerobatic two-seat-seat sport aircraft and had a largely composite material construction. It was designed by Yves Deborde and Jean-Louis Rolland and the type later became available for amateur construction. The first aircraft, known as a Cobra 200BT, was completed by Rolland. Although less than ten examples of the Cobra were built, at least seven designations were observed, indicating differences in the individual aircraft.

Cobra 200A: 200 hp Lycoming AEIO-360 engine. Two examples built, the first flying in March 1991. F-PJDK (c/n 2); F-PRBL (c/n 01).
Cobra 200BT: 200 hp Lycoming IO-360-C1C engine. First flown in 1988 as F-WZPL, after receiving CoA on February 27, 1989 registered F-PZPL.
Cobra 200DR: Improved version with a modified fuselage and new composite construction wings. Available in kit form, the sole example was built by Jean-Claude Richet, and first flown late 1998.
Cobra 201A: Also built by Jean-Claude Richet and completed in 1990.
Cobra 201AC: The pictured aircraft was built by Gino Bressan in 1994 and was first flown with the temporarily registration F-WDBG, after receiving its CofA it was reregistered F-PDBG on May 30, 1994. In 1996 it wore the temporarily F-WDBG again, after it had re-engined and redesignated Cobra 201AC260.
Cobra 202B: Built by Yves Deborde and completed in 2006. Later sold in Rumania and reregistered YR-CBR.
Cobra 260: Single-seater with 260 hp Lycoming AEIO-540 series engine. Completed in 1991 by AVAC (Association Voltige de l`Aviation Civile, Montpellier), later joined the GPPA (Groupement Pour la Préservation du Patrimoine Aéronautique) collection at Angers."
