Bellanca 28-90B

09/30/2008. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The Spanish Republicans ordered forty-two 28-90Bs, derived from the 28-70 Flash long-range racer. As US law prohibited the sale of arms to countries at war, twenty were to be supplied as "mailplanes" via Air France and twenty-two as "trainers" via a Greek aviation school. However, export permission was denied, the "mailplanes" ended up in China, the "trainers" with the Fuerza Aerea Mexicana. Reportedly none has been preserved."
