Dassault M.D.311 Flamant III

11/15/2020. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg and Johan Visschedijk: "The M.D.311 bombing and navigation trainer was the only Flamant version which had a transparent nose cone. A prototype was first flown on March 29, 1948, it was followed by forty production aircraft (c/n 254 to 293). The M.D.311 was powered by two 580 hp SNECMA (Renault) 12S-02 and later surviving aircraft were retrofitted with SNECMA 12T engines. The M.D.311 was built for the French AF and featured a small astrodome on the forward fuselage. M.D.311 aircraft sometimes had up to six uunderwing hard points for light bombs etc., and were used in ground support operations."
