04/30/2008. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "James "Jim" P. Eich from Alhambra, California, USA was a very enthusiastic gyronaut and famous for his training courses in the 1970s and 1980s. The JE-2 was an original design and N47143 was the prototype that first flew in March 1977. It was initially powered by a 65 hp Continental A65, later by a 85 hp Continental A85. The aircraft was destroyed in a crash and deregistered April 20, 1992.
