Jurca MJ-2D Tempête

04/30/2008. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "This particular example of the Tempête was built by Guy Boulard and it first flew in 1980.

The MJ-2 was the first of many original designs of Marcel Jurca who had completed and flown the first aircraft (with a 65 hp Continental A65 engine) in June 1956 with help of members of the Aéroclub de Courbevoie.

The success of this first aircraft resulted in the marketing of the MJ-2 and worldwide at least 50 were built with engines in the 65 to 180 hp range. The type of engine installed was reflected in the MJ-2 designation and the MJ-2D model had a 90 hp Continental C90. Other examples were MJ-2A (Continental A65), MJ-2H (125 hp Lycoming O-290), and MJ-2P (160 hp Lycoming O-320)."
