Blatnick BD-4 Sportster

11/15/2020. Remarks by Remarks by Walter van Tilborg and Johan Visschedijk: "The Sportster was the third original design homebuilt biplane aircraft by Michael M. Blatnick of Tyler, Texas, USA. Before WWII, Blatnick had designed and built his BD-1 and BD-2 (Blatnick Design No. 1 and 2) biplanes. Construction of the fully aerobatic two-seat Sportster was started in the early-1970s and the aircraft was completed in 1982.

Powered by an 180 hp Lycoming O-360-A1G6 engine, the one-of-a-kind aircraft made the first flight in October 1982. By August 9, 2018, the aircraft had been reregistered to Frank Murphy of Thomasville, Georgia."
