Weeks S-1W Special

02/28/2014.Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "The S-1W Special was a unlimited category full aerobatic biplane, built by the well-known Kermit Weeks, and powered by a 200 hp Lycoming AEIO-360 piston engine. The aircraft first appeared around 1978, its registration being issued February 23, 1978, and still is as of this day.

Reportedly the aircraft was a much modified Pitts S-1, but other source claim it was original design. The aircraft became part of the collection of the Weeks Air Museum (currently named Fantasy of Flight0 in Polk City, Florida, USA, where it is on display as " Kermit Weeks' self-designed and self-built aerobatic biplane".

A second S-1W Special (c/n S1W-002) was built by Bryan L. Ingraham of Seabrook, Texas. Registered as N69BL on January 23, 1984, the registration expired September 30, 2013."
