Dijkman Dulkes Dijkhastar III

04/30/2011. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "The Dijkhastar III was the third original design homebuilt aircraft of Cor P. Dijkman Dulkes and his first to feature a retractable landing gear. The registration PH-KOR was reserved on April 28, 1986, however, the reservation was cancelled the following year. Construction of the side-by-side two-seat aircraft started only in 1993 and the 180 hp Lycoming O-360 four-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled engine was selected as power plant.

Like the earlier Dijkhastar II the aircraft featured folding wings for easier hangarage and road transportation. The aircraft was registered on July 3, 1997, and named 'Rode Kiekendief' (Red Kite), the first flight was made on July 10, 1997. Dijkman Dulkes passed away on November 14, 2006, and on February 9, 2007, the aircraft was registered to J.J. van Egmond of Nijverdal. The registration was cancelled January 27, 2009, and the aircraft was stored, still owned by Dijkman Dulkes' widow Wolanda I. Dijkman Dulkes-Hornstra."
