Poltergeist I Sportster

10/31/2010. Remarks by Walter van Tilborg: "This light single-seat sport homebuilt aircraft was developed by a team consisting of Doc Kauffman, Roger Plate and Bruce Hollander. The group, named Poltergeist Aircraft Division's, planned to create a kind of a Cassutt-Soneri-Renagade combination light plane that could be built for a cost price of under $5,000.

The group built the prototype with one 50 hp VW1600 engine and first flew the aircraft in 1985. In 1987 it was decided not to offer the type on the homebuilt market and further development was stopped and the aircraft was then retained by Bruce Hollander of West Allis, Wisconsin."
