Noorduyn UC-64A Norseman Mk.VI

02/28/2009. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This Norseman was used by Noorduyn for 23 months for float and landing gear tests, seen here taxiing fitted with Edo floats. It came on the civil registry as NC58409 when sold as war surplus to South American Trading Corporation, New York, New York. It was converted to a passenger transport by All American Aviation Company, of Wilmington, Delaware, and became one of six Norsemans (NC58404 to NC58409) sold to the Compañía Argentina de Aeronavegación Dodero SA.

With the ferry pilot Alan Wingate at the controls, the aircraft departed Wilmington on May 22, 1946 for the 8,063 mls (12,976 km) transfer to Argentina. However, export problems grounded the aircraft for almost two weeks at Brownsville, Texas. It departed Brownsville on June 6 and arrived in Argentina on June 29, where it was registered as LV-AAT on August 19. In August 1951 the aircraft was sold to C. Pepe, two month later it was sold to P.V. Alonso and reregistered LV-FES."
