Bristol Monoplane

02/28/2009. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The British & Colonial Aeroplane Company Ltd was formed in 1910 by George and Samuel White, and became commonly know by its trade name Bristol (from its telegraph address), it wasn't before 1920 the company was renamed the Bristol Aeroplane Company Ltd.

The Romanian aircraft designer Henri Coandă joined the company as Chief Engineer in January 1912 and this monoplane was one of his first designs for Bristol. Often the type is also designated Bristol-Coanda Monoplane, however, the pictured aircraft wears only the name Bristol on the fin."
