04/30/2012. Hawker sold sixteen Fury aircraft to Persian Government under Contract No. 100118/33 in January, 1933. These were powered by 750 hp Pratt & Whitney Hornet S2Bl G radial engines driving three-blade Hamilton Hydromatic airscrews. Deliveries commenced in July 1933, the aircraft were serialed 201 to 216.

A second series of six aircraft was ordered in May 1934 under Contract No. 366843/34, these were to be powered by Bristol Mercury VI SP radial engines, and deliveries commenced March 1935, under the s/n 217 to 222.

At least two aircraft of the first batch, s/n 203 and 208, were returned to Hawker to be re-engined with Mercury engines. The first Mercury-converted Fury (203) flew on September 25, 1934.
