Hawker Typhoon F.Mk.IB

04/21/2025. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was one of 600 Typhoon F.Mk.IBs from the fourth production batch built by Gloster Aircraft at Brockworth, 4 miles (6.4 km) southeast of central Gloucester, Gloucestershire. Deliveries commenced April 5, 1943, and with an average of ca. eighteen aircraft per week, it was completed in December 1943.

Note that for the photo shoot the wartime censor had obliterated the Typhoon's serial number, apparently a part of it had flaked off. Later JP682 served with Nos. 56, 197 and 183 Squadrons. On February 24, 1945, JP682 and its pilot, Flt. Lt. Borham, went missing in action."
