Fairchild 71E XC-8

08/31/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Derived from the Model 71 the XC-8 was used as a light staff transport and for mapping. The designation chanched to XF-1 when the USAAC adopted a new designation system for photo reconnaissance and mapping aircraft in 1930. Later a batch of 8 aircraft (30-388/30-395) was ordered, depending on their outfit they were designated C-8 (transport version) or YF-1 (photographic version)."
