2003/02/28. Remarks by Chris Pinn: "This variant introduced the teardrop observation blister just aft of the front turret as well as aileron mass balances above the wings. Both of these features can be seen in the photo. L 9530 was a 76 Squadron aircraft piloted by Christopher Cheshire the brother of Leonard Cheshire, arguably Bomber Command's most distinguished pilot. It was shot down on the night of August 15/16th 1941 during a raid on Magdeburg with Christopher Cheshire becoming a prisoner of war."
