Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was built as a Douglas Model DC-3A-405 and delivered to the USAAF as a C-53-DO Skytrooper under serial 41-20084 on January 31, 1942.It was operated by Pan American Airways-Africa on February 23, 1942 until transferred to the USAAF´s Air Transport Command on October 16, 1942. After serving at several bases in the US, it was declared surplus and transferred to the Refinance Constructions Corp on February 8, 1945 at Bush Field, Augusta, Georgia.

The aircraft was acquired by the US Civil Aviation Administration and registered NC15574, it was reregistered N70B in December 1953 and on March 30, 1954, it was reregistered to Beldex of St. Louis, Missouri. On February 10, 1955, it was sold to Canadian Shell Ltd. and registered CF-HXS and reregistered four days later to Shell Aviation Co. It was sold to Quebec Carrier Mining, Ltd. of Mount Royal, Quebec on July 30, 1958 and reregistered CF-QCM on February 9, 1959. After passing through two other owners, the registration was cancelled in March 1980. Its fate is unknown.
