Canadair CL-2 DC-4M-2/3 North Star M2-3

08/12/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "The North Star M2-3 was essentially a pressurized Douglas C-54G Skymaster with Rolls-Royce Merlin liquid cooled engines built to a Trans-Canada Air Lines (TCA) specification. This aircraft was delivered to TCA on December 10, 1947, assigned Fleet Number 205, and was sold to Britain's Overseas Aviation Ltd on July 1, 1961 but it is not known if it was registered in the UK. Five months later, on October 13, 1961, it was sold to A.J. Gaul and finally sold to Venezuela's Linea Expressa Bolivar CA on January 13, 1962 and registered YV-C-LBU.

This CL-2 was damaged beyond repair at Miami, Florida, USA, by Hurricane Cleo on August 27, 1964 during which winds gusted to 135 mph (217 kmh). The aircraft was subsequently scrapped in 1967."
