10/31/2006. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This was BuNo 88458, the fifth F2G-1 built, delivered to the US Navy in 1945. Struck off charge in January 1948 it was registered as NX5588N and listed as Racer number "57". Between 1996 and 1999 it was meticulous restorated to its appearance at the 1949 air races. It did not race at the 2006 races."
