Grumman G-21A Goose

10/31/2012. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The pictured aircraft was originally a G-38 JRF-5 produced for the USN under BuNo 34077. In 1947 this aircraft was based at Bromma, near Stockholm, Sweden and was used by the US Naval Attaché and American embassy staff as a transport and for proficiency flying. In 1952 it returned to the USA and it was withdrawn from use.

Subsequently it came on the civil registry as a G-21A, registered N749. It was used by the US Fish & Wildlife Service, and later it was reregistered N7491. Eventually it went to Canada where it was registered to Trans Provincial Airlines of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, as CF-UVJ, later C-FUVJ. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair in an accident near Prince Rupert, seven of the ten occupants were killed."
