11/30/2007. This aircraft was built in 1934 for Transcontinental and Western Airlines (TWA) and delivered to the airline on July 20th of the same year. Sold to Braniff Airways on July 29, 1937, it was impressed by the USAAF as a C-32A, s/n 42-61096, on June 1, 1942. Struck off charge on November 3, 1944, it was sold to Transportes Aéreos Centroamericanos (TACA) of Mexico in March 1945, and was transferred to Aerovias Brasil on January 3, 1946, registered as PP-AVG. The aircraft was written off when it crashed at Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on February 5, 1947, apparently without loss of lives. |
