Remarks by Jack McKillop: "The aircraft was built as a C-135B-BN and delivered to the USAF on June 9, 1962.Converted to a VC-135B in 1967 and used as a VIP transport by high ranking staff. During the President Jimmy Carter Administration, the VIP interior was removed and it was redesignated C-135B in July 1977.

It was converted to a TC-135W in February 1987 and used as a Rivet Joint flight crew training aircraft for RC-135V/W with no intelligence-gathering equipment on board. In June 1994, the aircraft was operated by the 38th Reconnaissance Squadron, 55th Operations Group, 55th Wing, Twelfth Air Force, Air Combat Command, and based at Offutt AFB, Omaha, Nebraska."
