08/12/2006. Remarks by Jack
McKillop: "This DC-4M-2 was essentially a pressurized
Douglas C-54G Skymaster with Rolls-Royce Merlin liquid cooled
engines built to a Trans Canada Air Lines (TCA) specification. This
aircraft was delivered to TCA on February 18, 1948 registered CF-TFL
and assigned Fleet Number 212.
The aircraft was sold to Overseas Aviation Ltd. on July 1, 1961 and
to A.J. Gaul on October 13, 1961. In June 1962, it was sold in the
US to T.W. Smith and re-registered N8722R. It was subsequently
leased to Avco Electronics as a Range Instrumentation aircraft, and
eventually scrapped in Middleton, Ohio, in 1964."
