01/31/2008. The Plover was designed by Harold Bolas to an Air Ministry
specification for a deck-landing fighter and three prototypes were
built. Powered by a 436 hp Bristol Jupiter IV engine the first flew in
1922. Only fourteen production aircraft were built by George Parnall &
Co, N9610 being fitted (alike prototype N162) with wheeled floats. By
1924 the Plovers were replaced by the Flycatcher, built to the same
specification.
