10/31/2007. Two prototypes of the experimental Mirage G8 two-seat multi-purpose fighter were ordered in late 1968, to be powered by two 15,873 lb (7,200 kg) st SNECMA Atar 9K-50 turbojets. The first prototype was first flown on May 8, 1971, the second, finished as a single-seater, was first flown on July 13, 1972.
