Boulton Paul P.92/2

10/31/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The P.92 was designed to Specification F.11/37 for a large twin-engined three-seat long-range escort fighter. Two prototypes (s/n L9629 and L9632) were ordered, but cancelled in May 1940 when construction had just begun.

A half-scale flying model, the pictured P.92/2 had been authorized earlier (May 1939). It was constructed under contract to Boulton & Paul by Heston under their type number HA.8, and it was flown during May 1940. With the cancellation of the P.92 project the P.92/2 was stored for some time before eventual being scrapped."
