10/31/2007. This two-seat fully aerobatic light aircraft was designed
by Sydney A. Holloway and the prototype was manufactured at Bodmin,
Cornwall, UK. First flight was made by Air Vice-Marshal Geoffrey
Cairns on August 23, 1983. Powered by an 118 hp Avco Lycoming O-235-L2A
flat-four cylinder engine, the aircraft gained its type certificate on
December 12, 1985.
The rights were sold to Orca Aircraft in 1987, when Orca went broke in
1989 the rights went to FLS Aerospace, who marketed the aircraft as
the FLS Sprint 160. Five aircraft, powered by an 160 hp Textron
Lycoming AEIO-320-D1B were produced between 1993 and 1998; those, and
the pictured prototype, are still on the UK Registry.
