Focke-Wulf A 43 Falke

07/31/2009. The development of this three-seat high-speed utility aircraft was started on request of the well-known pilot Cornelius Edzard, director of the Norddeutschen Luftverkehrs AG. (North-German Air Transport Co.) at Bremen. Registered as D-2333 and powered by a 220 hp Argus As 10 engine, the Falke (Falcon) was first flown by chief designer Kurt Tank, and proved to be faster than all airliners in the European network, although it did not reach the predicted performance. Subsequently the sole aircraft was sold to the Norddeutschen Luftverkehrs AG. in August 1932. In April 1933 it was the first Focke-Wulf type listed by the RLM as the Fw 43.
