03/15/2020. Johan Visschedijk: "Under the serial 39-33, this aircraft was handed over to the USAAC at Maxwell Field, Alabama, on May 28, 1940. On December 2, 1944, it was transferred to the RFC at McKellar Field, Tennessee, to be sold as surplus. On June 2, 1945, it was registered to Howard Hughes at Culver City, California, as NC49548, where after it was converted to a corporate aircraft. Thereafter it passed through several owners and was on and off the register:
