Martin 67

04/15/2021. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "In 1924 the Glenn L. Martin Company of Cleveland, Ohio, USA, developed their single-seat Model 66 Night Mail Plane of 1923, into the Model 67 two-seat primary trainer. Of wooden construction, covered with fabric, it had low-aspect ratio wings braced by single interplane struts, and could be fitted with a wheel or float landing gear. It was powered by a 200 hp Lawrance J-1 nine-cylinder air-cooled radial engine, driving a two-blade wooden fixed-pitch propellor. Subsequently the sole Model 67 was delivered to the USN under the BuNo A-6800, initially designated as NT-1, later as N2M-1. After acceptance trails, the aircraft saw limited service at NAS Pensacola, Florida, for only a few years."
