06/30/2017. Remarks by Dan Shumaker: "The Airline Transportation Company was formed in 1921 by L.E. Hardy and in November of that year service was started using a Standard J-1 airplane. The route was between Los Angeles and El Centro. In 1922 an eight passenger cabin plane was ordered from Rogers Aircraft Company and was delivered in August. Designated Rogers Arrow the aircraft was placed in service by the Airline Transportation Company but did not give satisfactory performance and the airline was later abandoned."
