05/15/2007. Remarks by Stephen Mills: "John Carberry bought this aircraft for his wife Maia. Pictured here is Maia Carberry refueling her aircraft in Mombasa Town prior to her record-breaking 3.5 hr flight, being the first person to fly non-stop the 275 mls (443 km) from Mombasa to Nairobi. On March 12, 1928, Maia Carberry crashed in G-EBSQ and was killed, the aircraft was written off."
