03/31/2010. In September 2008 a contingent of eight Harriers of No.4 Squadron participated in the 'Red Flag' exercise at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Accompanied by two British Aircraft Corporation 1106 VC-10 C.1K support tankers of No.101 Squadron, they left Cottesmore, UK on September 8, making stops at Lajes, Azores, Portugal and St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada.

The eight Harriers were ZD321 c/n 512071/P2, ZD375 c/n P23, ZD378 c/n P26, ZD402 c/n P31, ZD435 c/n P47, ZD437 c/n P49, ZD438 c/n P50 and ZG859 c/n 91. The two tankers were XR808 c/n 828 and XV101 c/n 831.

Accompanied on the return flight by the VC-10 C.Mk.1Ks XV101 and VX106 c/n 838, the Harriers staged through London, Ontario, Canada, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, returning at Cottesmore on October 1, 2008.
