North American NA-305 OV-10D Bronco

10/31/2011. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The OV-10 was delivered to Marine Observation Squadron Two (VMO-2) in January 1969 and deployed to Vietnam, arriving at Vung Tau Army Air Base on April 6. Missions included counter-insurgency (COIN) operation, Forward Air Control (FAC), Light Armed Reconnaissance, and helicopter escort.

In 1987 the aircraft was converted to OV-10D, and on July 30, 1987, painted in a camouflage scheme, it was delivered to NATC RDT&E (Naval Air Test Center Research, Development, Test and Evaluation) at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. On April 22, 1988 it was transferred to VX-5 (Air Development Squadron Five) at Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake, California, while on July 18, 1988 it was transferred to the Naval Air Depot at MCAS Cherry Point at North Carolina.

It was delivered to the Marine Corps Museum, MCAS El Toro, California in late 1993, after that station was closed in 1999, the aircraft moved to the Flying Leathernecks Museum."
