Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Registered as N1037V this Stratocruiser first flew as a Boeing 377-10-26 on August 11, 1949 and was delivered to Pan American Airways on September 8, 1949, being named "Clipper Fleetwing". In 1960 it was withdrawn from service and sold to Boeing on August 4.

In 1963 it was acquired by Aero Spacelines and converted into the sole Mini-Guppy. Being flown for the first time as N422AJ on May 24, 1967, it was subsequently sold to American Jet Industries, while in October 1981 it was registered to Aero Union as N422AU.

The last operator was Erickson Air Crane who bought the Mini-Guppy in 1990 and used it till 1995. As shown, the last surviving piston-powered Guppy is on display at Tillamook, wearing Tillamook Air Museum titles on the other side."
