Sindlinger Special No. 1

10/04/2004. Remarks by Philo Lund: "Built by Fred Sindlinger over a period of 15 months. It is a single-seat, strut-braced low wing aircraft with a sliding canopy and fixed gear. It flew for the first time on April 10, 1959. It has a welded steel tube fuselage and tail surfaces. It has a wooden wing with a Clark Y airfoil. It is fabric covered with a built-up glass fiber cowling.

The engine, propeller, main wheels and brake assemblies and cylinders, tail wheel, rudder pedals, and instruments are manufactured parts or assemblies. All other parts and pieces were made and assembled by Fred Sindlinger."
