Boeing 377-10-28 Stratocruiser

04/30/2008. Ordered on April 18, 1948, by SILA and to be registered SE-BDR. SILA (Svensk Interkontinental Lufttrafik Aktiebolaget, Swedish Intercontinental Airline Company) was formed on February 18, 1943. On June 1, 1948, it merged with ABA (Aktiebolaget Aerotransport) and in February 1949, the order was transferred to BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation).

The aircraft was delivered to BOAC on December 16, registered G-ALSD and named RMA Cassiopeia. It was sold to Transocean on September 7, 1958, and registered N85Q. It was subsequently converted to a 40 passenger luxury airliner and reregistered N403Q on October 14, 1959. In September 1960 it was sold and ended up with Aero Spacelines and subsequently broken up for the Guppy program.
