Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This SOC-2 was assigned to Cruiser Scouting Squadron Six (VCS-6) of Cruiser Division Six (CruDiv-6) and based in the heavy cruiser USS Minneapolis (CA-36) ca. 1938. All 15 SOCs of VCS-6 had a black stripe applied to the horizontal and vertical tail surfaces between 1937 and 1940." View also photo 10090.
