Douglas B-23 Dragon

03/15/2020. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Serialed 39-48, the pictured aircraft was delivered to the USAAC at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Alabama, on July 25, 1940. Only four years later it was withdrawn from service and transferred to the RFC at McKellar Field, Jackson, Tennessee, on November 7, 1944. Subsequently it was registered NC67000 to the Hughes Aircraft Company and converted to a civil transport. On July 2, 1946, it was registered to the Pacific Lumber Company of San Francisco, California. On March 29, 1954, the aircraft stalled while landing and crashed about 900 ft (275 m) short of the runway threshold. The six occupants were injured, the aircraft was destroyed by the ensuing fire. The registration was cancelled on June 1, 1954."
