Delvion DVD-01

06/30/2010. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Jean Délémontez (the 'del' in Jodel, the well-known company he formed with his father-in-law Édouard Joly in 1946), designed the DR.300 four-seat aircraft series that was produced by Robin from 1970.

Some thirty years later Délémontez had joined with Jacques Vion and formed Delvion with the aim to convert aircraft to diesel power. Délémontez redesigned the DR.300 to be fitted by a 94 hp PSA (Peugeot Société Anonyme) diesel car engine, and the aircraft, designated DVD-01, was finished by Vion in 2000.

It is claimed the aircraft consumes only 2.64 gal (10 l)/hr at a cruise speed of 121 mph (195 kmh) at a max weight of 1,764 lb (800 kg)."
