Remarks by Loet Kuipers: "The single-seat Sukhoi Su-7BM fighter bomber (NATO code name "Fitter-A") was powered by a Lyulka AL-7F-1 turbojet rated at 15,212 lb (6,900 kg) st dry and 21,825 lb (9,900 kg) st with afterburning. It carried two 1.18 in (30 mm) NR-30 cannon and up to 4,409 lb (2,000 kg) of bombs, missiles, etc. on six hard points. Developed in the Soviet Union in the 1950s, the Fitter was exported to many (mostly communist) countries, and Egypt got it during the period that Nasser was president."
