Star Kraft SK-700

04/30/2008. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Star Kraft, Inc., of Fort Scott, Kansas, USA, was formed by Roger E. Kraft in 1993 to produce the SK-700. The sole prototype was flown for the first time in December 1994 and received a CofA on August 17, 1995. Initially the 8 seat pressurized business aircraft was to be manufactured as a kitplane, however, by late 1995 FAA regulations led to plans for full-scale production and certification.

The all-composite pusher/tractor aircraft was powered by two 350 hp Teledyne Continental LTSIO-550A six-cylinder horizontally-opposed combustion engines, one in the nose and another in the tail. On March 1, 1996, David Morss flew two FAI records flying a recognized course, Palm Springs, California to Phoenix, Arizona, at an average speed of 312.87 mls (503.51 kmh), and Phoenix, Arizona to El Paso, New Mexico, at an average speed of 355.23 mls (571.68 kmh)."
