02/28/2007. Remarks by Bernhard Klein: "The MD 453 Mystère de Nuit (Night Mystery), of which 3 prototypes were ordered, was in fact a derivative of the Mystere II with lateral intakes. First flight of first prototype took place on July 18, 1952. After the first prototype had flown 146 flight tests by December 1953, the program was terminated, and the second and third prototypes were cancelled. The one and only IIIN was subsequently used to test ejection seats."
