Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Designed as a Lockheed Model 237 PV-1 Ventura, this aircraft was built by the Lockheed subsidiary Vega as a Model V-147 under the USN BuNo 34812 (c/n 237-5702). It immediately transferred to the RCAF as a Ventura GR.Mk.V (serial 2254) on September 24, 1943, on December 23, 1947, it was converted to a target tug. The aircraft was struck off charge on March 18, 1951.

In 1955 it came on the US civil register as N539N, and was subsequently converted by the Howard Aero, Inc. to the twelfth Super Ventura, delivered in March 1957. N539N was deregistered on August 21, 2012.
