CASA C-207C T.7B Azor

05/15/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The Azor was designed as a 30-38 passenger airliner and the first of two prototypes flew for the first time at Getafe on September 28, 1955. Iberia was the sole airline to order the aircraft, but eventually that order was cancelled.

The Spanish AF ordered ten C-207As, designated T.7A, manned by a crew of four they could carry 36 passengers in an air-conditioned cabin. Later, an additional ten C-207Cs, designated T.7B, were ordered. These could carry 37 paratroopers and were also fitted with a larger cargo door; used as a freighter, a payload of 7,385 lb (3,350 kg) could be carried.

The last aircraft was delivered in 1968, while the last was withdrawn from use in the mid-1980s. The pictured aircraft served with 405 Squadron."
