Galaxy Aerospace Corporation (Ft. Worth, Texas, USA) was founded in 1997 to promote, sell and equip the Astra. Galaxy's co-founder and co-owner Israel Aircraft Industrie (IAI) manufactures and delivers the aircraft 'green' to the US, where it is being equipped. The C-38A has been fitted and missionized for service with the USAF ANG by subcontractors JetCorp (St. Louis, Maryland, USA) and Duncan Aviation (Lincoln, Nebraska, USA). JetCorp installed a part of the equipment; Duncan installed the APU and painted the aircraft. Prime contractor was Tracor Incorporated (Austin, Texas). Prior to delivery to the ANG the aircraft was registered as N399AG. |
