Consolidated 28-5A Canso A

08/15/2008. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "License-built by Canadian Vickers at Cartierville, Quebec, and delivered to the RCAF as Canso A, s/n 11088, on June 5, 1944. It was struck off charge on December 12, 1960, subsequently sold to the Province of Quebec, Department of Lands and Forests, converted to a water bomber, and registered as CF-PQM.

In 1979 it was reregistered as C-FPQM to the Government of Quebec, still fighting forest fires, listed as tanker number 14. Retired in 1993 it was sold to Buffalo Airways of Hay River, Northwest Territories on June 20, 1996, and listed as tanker number 714. By August 1, 2003 it had been retired."
