12/31/2008. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Produced for the USN under BuNo 79683 in 1945, this Hellcat came on the civil register as N7896C in 1963. After long-term storage Preston Parish of Kalamazoo, Michigan started a restoration in 1979, subsequently the aircraft was sold to the Kalamazoo Aviation History Museum. It was registered as N4PP on June 23, 1981 and the aircraft received its CofA on July 9. It is still on the FAA Registry but reportedly no longer flown."
