08/15/2008. This two-seat twin-float general purpose torpedo-bomber reconnaissance aircraft was designed by Dipl.-Ing. W. Blume. The first of five prototypes, Ar 95 V1, registered as D-OLUO, was tested early in 1936, followed by the second Ar 95 V2, D-OHGV. Six three-seat pre-production aircraft Ar 95 A-0 were tested by the Condor Legion in Spain, but the type was not selected for use by the Luftwaffe or German Navy.
The type was offered for export as the Ar 95W float plane or Ar 95L land plane. Turkey ordered the float version, however, the produced Ar 95 A-1's were taken over by the Luftwaffe, while three land planes were delivered to Chili as
Ar 95 B's. The pictured production prototype had provision for one machine gun in the forward fuselage and one on a flexible mount in the rear cockpit.
