05/31/2008. Canada ordered 41 Sea King's under the designation CHSS-2, the first four were built by Sikorsky and the first was delivered in May 1963. The remaining 37 were assembled by United Aircraft of Canada. This helicopter was delivered to the RCN with the s/n 4024.

On August 14, 1970, it was redesignated CH-124 and reserialed with the CAF as 12424. Subsequently it was converted to a CH-124A, CH-124B, and CH-124B-2.
