Saunders ST-27

02/28/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built as a de Havilland D.H.114 Heron 2B (c/n 14054) and named Pål it was registered as LN-NPI to Braathen's S.A.F.E. (South American and Far East Air Transport A/S), Oslo, Norway on January 18, 1955. On January 26, 1957 it was damaged and its registration cancelled. It was repaired with parts of Heron 2B LN-SUR (c/n 14093) that had crashed November 1956. After being repaired it was named Ola and registered LN-SUL on April 16, 1958.

In 1960 it was sold to Denmark and registered to Falcks Flyvetjeneste as OY-ADV. In 1970 it was sold to the UK and was registered G-AYLH till May 1972 when it was sold to Saunders of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; it was registered as CF-LOL. It was converted to a ST-27 and was reregistered as C-FLOL (new c/n 006). Twelve Herons had be converted to ST-27 and one to ST-28 when the program was halted in 1976 as the financial backing was withdrawn."
